Sarah Isabelle Tan is an artist working primarily with photographic print processes. She is particularly interested in the materiality of the photograph that stems from the experience of working within the darkroom. Working across the still and moving image, her recent work attempts to confront the distance between herself and the image through contemplation of her own relationship to the medium. Through personal encounters of loss, memory, fleeting moments, and a longing to possess what is always beyond reach, Sarah’s practice involves a constant pursuit of questions that will perpetually remain unanswered.
